Larry Rosenwald

Lawrence Rosenwald of Wellesley, Massachusetts, was the Anne Pierce Rogers Professor of American Literature at Wellesley College, where he began teaching since 1980. His scholarly interests include American literary multilingualism, translation, and diaries. He has also performed and recorded with Schola Antiqua, Pomerium, Christmas Revels, and Jubal’s Lyre, and has written and performed numerous verse scripts for early music theater pieces all across the United States. He has been a war tax resister since 1987, and has written extensively on war tax resistance and on nonviolence generally; his current scholarly project is a study of how the choice between violence and nonviolence is represented in literature.
