Celebrating 40 Years of NWTRCC
Friday, November 4
8:00 pm – 9:30 pm (5p-6:30p Pacific): Social Hour with Previous Coordinators
This session will be a time for our members to share stories NWTRCC during the last 40 years. To get us started, we will have NWTRCC previous coordinators each share a memorable anecdote from their time as NWTRCC’s coordinator. Folksinger Charlie King will also join us to sing a few songs!!!
Saturday, November 5
11:00 am – 1:00p (8a-10a) The Living History of NWTRCC
This session will feature four panelists who will briefly share stories and highlights from a decade of NWTRCC’s history. Afterward, the larger group will continue to share memorable moments in NWTRCC’s history. (Speakers to be announced.)

2:00 pm – 3:30 pm (11a-12:30p): Memorial Session
This session will remember many of the wonderful people who have been connected to NWTRCC over the last forty years. The session will begin with a slide show of departed members and be followed with an opportunity for those present to share memories. We have begun compiling a list for the slide show, but please email the NWTRCC office with the name (and photo) of anyone you would like to have included.

4:30 – 5:30 pm (1:30p-2:30p): NWTRCC Team Trivia
Ready to test your knowledge about NWTRCC? You won’t be alone. Everyone will be placed on a team to ponder some fun NWTRCC trivia. You’ll also have ample time to meet and converse with your random teammates.

6:30 – 8 pm (3:30p-5p): NWTRCC’s Next 40 Years
After having spent our previous sessions focusing on the last forty years of NWTRCC, this session will focus on the next forty. Attendees will be placed in breakout rooms to discuss how NWTRCC can best continue its purpose in a country that continues to militarize. We will then report back to the larger group.
Sunday, November 6
11:00a – 2:00p Eastern (8a-11a Pacific): NWTRCC Business meeting (open to all)
War Tax Resistance 101 & 201 Sessions
Our WTR 101 & 201 online sessions will not happen during the conference weekend.
- War Tax Resistance 101: An introduction to the why and how of this form of resistance, with discussion of potential consequences and resource referral. For people new to WTR or just getting started. Facilitated by Chrissy Kirchhoefer, NWTRCC Outreach Consultant. We will a hold session at a later date after the conference with anyone who is interested.
- War Tax Resistance 201: Updates, trends, and Q&A for current war tax resisters. With NWTRCC Coordinator Lincoln Rice and the expert resisters in attendance! (Planned for Tuesday October 25 at 8p Eastern / 5p Pacific.)
