NWTRCC is making a big push to get war tax resisters to the U.S. Social Forum sites in Philadelphia and San Jose for a weekend of workshops, People’s Movement Assemblies, organizing, getting to know people, and of course, spreading the word about war tax resistance.
The Philly workshop, called Violence and War; Conscience and Taxes, is on Thursday, June 25, 2015 – 11:00am to 12:30pm, in Temple University’s Howard Gittis Student Center (1755 N. 13th St.), Room 205.
The San Jose workshop, called War Tax Resistance and Redirection to Fund Our Movements, is on Friday, June 26, 2015 – 8:30am to 10:00am, in King Library (150 E. San Fernando), Room 229.
The list of workshops submitted so far is enormous, and includes movement friends like CodePink, World Beyond War, and American Friends Service Committee, as well as immigrant solidarity, climate justice, anti-racist, solidarity economy, and other organizations!
I’m really looking forward to meeting other folks who are presenting on militarization-related issues and hoping that the schedule is not going to be too packed to participate in some of those workshops.
Will you be attending in San Jose or Philly? Let us know, we’d love to connect.
