Protests and leafleting are held at post offices, town squares, and federal buildings.

Illinois

Chicago — Chicago Area War Tax Resisters will be demonstrating April 15, 10:30 am to 1:30 pm, at Federal Building Plaza, Chicago. The demonstrators believe that the huge federal military budget sucks money away from educational, medical, housing, infrastructure, and other projects needed to meet the obvious needs of people, cannot produce permanent peace and security, and, eventually, will lead to nuclear war. They recommend that conflicts be resolved by negotiation, diplomacy, and other nonviolent approaches. The demonstration is sponsored by the Chicago Area War Resisters Support Group.
