Dear People at the IRS,

Thank you for your certified letter dated March 7, 2016. In that letter you state that I owe $5,855.30 for the tax year ending December 31, 2014. I am writing to inform you that I will not be sending any money to the IRS. I cannot in good conscience send any more money to a government who uses 45% of its budget for military purposes, especially when so many people in this country have basic needs that go unmet every day.

I have decided that rather than pay money to the IRS to pay for war, I will give the money to where I believe it is most needed closer to home, to organizations to help fulfill unmet needs in my own community.

I am philosophically, spiritually and morally opposed to killing, torture and other acts of terrorism performed by people in our military with our government’s consent. I know in my heart that the only path to peace is by acting peacefully. I refuse to give my support to any endeavor that justifies killing in any way, and especially when it involves civilian causalities.

Please understand that although I commit this act of dissent, I mean the United States government no harm whatsoever. I wish the very best for my country and for all the people in the world. My deepest driving desire is to help create a more beautiful world with every action I make.

With Sincerity and Honor,
Amanda Seta
